FAQ: Sunflower Sessions 2021

What kind of sessions could we use this set for?

We can include whatever you'd like! We could use this time for small immediate families, Mommy&Me, milestone, headshots, grad, maternity, etc...only extended families are excluded. Let's talk about your vision and create beautiful images together.

If you book a session for your immediate family, this is a sample list of the combinations we would include:
--everyone
--just kids
--each kid individually
--mom and kids
--dad and kids
--mom and dad

What are the available dates?

Sunflower Sessions are taking place on Sunday, August 29th.

Available time spots are:
3:00
3:45
4:30
5:15
6:00
6:45

How much do the Sunflower Sessions cost?

The cost for Sunflower Sessions is $225. This includes a 30 minute session and 40 photos. There are six spots available for the Sunflower Sessions.

How many children can I bring?

As many siblings as you have in your family (only one immediate family per booking). No extended families during Sunflower Sessions.

If you're bringing multiple children: we will do photos of the kids together as well as the kids individually.

What should we wear?

Light colours photograph best, including light neutral colours (whites, beiges, greys). Moms: I suggest finding your outfit first and then coordinating everyone else based on your outfit.

Please avoid large logos, avoid hats, avoid anything too large or bold in patterns.

For multiple people, coordinating colours is better than directly matching. Adding texture works as well: adding a cardigan or sweater. I am always more than happy to help you choose what to wear, and I can help you with what will look best in your photos. Feel free to send me photos of your outfits and I can make suggestions as to what will photograph best.

How do I get my photos?

Once your photos are ready, you will receive an email with access to your online gallery. You will have a four digit pin required to download photos. The photos are then yours to download, save, print, share, etc.

How long are the Summer Mini Sessions?

These mini sessions are up to 30 minutes long: short and sweet. While that may not seem like very long, I assure you that we can capture beautiful images in that time frame. I work fast with kiddos. I know their attention spans are short, so I am efficient!

Where do these take place?

Sunflower Sessions take place near Champion, AB.

Is there a washroom available?

Sunflower Sessions take place on a private property and there are no washrooms available. Please plan accordingly.

Covid Safety Measures

For the safety of your family and mine, please reschedule your session if you or any of your family members have any Covid related symptoms. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility during this time.

Returning Client Discount

The returning client discount (25% off) cannot be applied to the Sunflower Sessions. However, returning clients will receive an additional 10 photos (so 50 photos total in your gallery).

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. I require a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot for the Sunflower Sessions. This can be sent in an email to shereehartung@gmail.com. The remainder of your payment is due on or before August 29th.

What do I need to bring?

Not much! Please bring a blanket in a light neutral colour (grey, beige, white) for photos of you sitting on the ground. Please keep in mind that the sunflower field is a field, so your blanket will get a bit dirty. If you'd like to bring props, please discuss with Sheree in advance.

Bribery

I wholeheartedly encourage bribery when it comes to taking photos of children :) (And husbands...haha!) In fact, I use bribery with my own kiddos too, so I've seen it all. No judgement here - whether it's ice cream after the session or a new hot wheels car - bribe away :)

Sunflower Info

Due to the drought in Southern Alberta, the sunflower field is not as high as it has been in past years, so they are not the traditional height for a sunflower. They are expected to grow to approximately chest height. Regardless, we will be creative with posing and blankets to create the best possible photos.

The sunflower field is just that...a field. Please expect your shoes to get dirty, for there to be bugs/grasshoppers/bees, etc. The ground is uneven so please plan accordingly.
