Cake smashes happen when your baby turns ONE! We design a session together based on a colour or theme of your choice. It includes photos of the baby by him/herself, the cake, and cake smash, and an online gallery of 50+ high-resolution photos.

I advise booking your cake smash as soon as possible to give us time to design and plan your perfect session.
I have a variety of backdrops to choose from. We begin by talking about your colour scheme or theme. Some parents choose the same cake smash theme as they plan on using for their child's birthday party or the same theme as their nursery decor or based on the child's favourite food...the list goes on! Based on the theme or colour of your choice, we take a look at my backdrops and props and go from there!
I do not supply the cake (or the food of your choice to smash) for cake smash sessions. However - I can recommend a few local bakeries who make beautiful and delicious cakes!
We will start with family photos (if applicable), photos of just the kiddo, (some parents choose a separate outfit for these photos), then just the cake, then the cake smash.
Yes definitely! Depending on our cake smash backdrop choice, we may do family photos in front of the cake smash backdrop, or we may do them in front of my standard white brick: each session is different. An additional fee may apply to add family photos.
For family, parent, and sibling photos, I encourage family members to dress in neutral colours (greys, beiges, whites). Please no hats or shoes in the studio. I suggest avoiding large logos, text on clothing, or large patterns.
You will receive an email with access to your online gallery. You will have a four digit pin required to download photos. The 50+ photos are yours to download, save, print, share, etc.
My studio is located in my home in Lethbridge.
While cleaning practices have always been in place, everything has been amplified due to Covid. I ask that shoes remain at the door and are not worn inside the studio. I ask that clients sanitize their hands upon entry. I will wear a mask for the duration of our shoot, because while I am photographing your family and kiddo it is impossible for me to stay socially distanced. I ask that no one "extra" attends studio sessions (grandparents, friends, etc.), only the people being photographed. If siblings of the cake smasher are attending, I ask that they leave the studio space with one parent after family photos are done. Except for the cake and any applicable outfit changes, I ask that minimal things are brought inside. I will ask that all adults and children of suitable ages wear masks upon entry and when not being photographed. Disposable masks can be provided if necessary. Everything is cleaned and disinfected before, after, and in between sessions. Because my studio space is in my home, my cleaning practices/expectations are high not only for the safety of your family, but for the safety of my family as well.
Returning clients get 25% off full sessions.
